In Blue Lock Farm you make a unit stronger in two ways: level it up or grade it at the Ranking stall in the Plaza. Grades multiply a unit's cash from x1 (F) up to x14 (UR), and since the September 28 update each unit can also roll a Trait for bonus Cash, Damage or Health. The developer's own advice: "level up your units or go grade them."

- 11 grades exist, from F (x1 cash) to UR (x14 cash).
- You can pay each roll with cash or with Grade Tokens; token rolls have better odds and are 1.25x faster.
- Cash rolls get very expensive on high-tier units (millions per roll).

Base upgrades that raise income
The Upgrades stall in the Plaza sells base upgrades. These are the known ones:

Upgrade prices jump quickly (early on, one luck upgrade went from 1,000 to 100,000).
Grade your best unit first. A UR on a weak unit earns less than a lower grade on a unit that already makes much more per ball. Each unit's panel shows its cash per ball, so compare there before spending tokens.
